Film Otsego is here to help!

We would love to leverage your donations to create matches during the campaign. If you would like to join our VIP class, please contract Board President Greg Klein at greg@film-coop.com to arrange to sponsor a Match-day Monday  or Weekends Wild program. 

• Connect with local businesses and workers to staff and stock a shoot.
• Connect with local municipalities, police and fire departments to ensure safety and proper permitting and permissions for shoots.
• Find locations for shoots and connect producers with local business and property owners to facilitate site rentals.

Film Otsego was founded in 2020 with a generous grant from the C.J. Heilig Foundation. We are a nonprofit 501c6 (so donations, unfortunately are not tax deductible). We are powered by a diverse board of directors, which includes local industry professionals, as well as community leaders. Our board members have been writing checks and donating work hours all year to get us launched, but for full funding we need help from the larger community. 

Film Otsego established itself in 2020 on a limited budget, but our goals are much bigger for 2021. We will not only attract entertainment industry productions, but we will begin industry building and we hope to debut a destination weekend event next fall, pandemic willing. We need your help to fund a full year's budget, which will help us:

• Hire a full-time Film Commissioner and part time staff for events.
• Design and purchase materials for promotions and outreach, including advertising and marketing materials. 
• Launch a campaign to let the outside world know how great it is to film in Otsego County.

We have great partnership programs for businesses and individuals, with incredible perks. However, in addition to getting some perks, our donors should know that building an entertainment industry in Otsego County would mean they are helping to:

• Bring millions of dollars of business to local industries, including lodging, restaurants and catering, dry cleaning, general goods, thrift sales, office space and other location rentals.
• Creating economic diversity in the region, which has been hurt during the pandemic because of an overreliance on tourism and colleges.
• Creating an industry that would attract young people to the region and would give our high school and college graduates a reason to stay in the area.

The response since we officially launched this fall has been overwhelmingly positive and we are thankful for your support. We ask that you become our partners in making a better Otsego County by building a new industry here. Please give what you can to help our nonprofit and help our region.
